Director of Digital Systems

Overview

My client is recruiting recently hiring for a Director of Digital Systems role with a leading charity.

This is a senior leadership position at the heart of their global technology function, leading the development and delivery of core digital platforms used across multiple countries and teams.

It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys shaping technology strategy, leading large engineering teams, and driving transformation at scale.

In this role, you’ll:
• Lead the strategic direction for application development and core business systems
• Oversee global software development, QA, and application management teams (c.40 people)
• Drive Agile and DevOps adoption, improving SDLC and delivery practices
• Manage a £3m budget across engineering and third-party vendors
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align technology with organisational goals
• Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and meet evolving business needs

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has extensive experience leading IT or engineering functions at scale
• Is strong in Agile, DevOps, and software delivery governance
• Can operate strategically while managing complex global teams
• Is confident engaging with senior stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions
• Has a solid technical foundation (APIs, microservices, architecture)
• Has experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred), or other modern platforms such as D365, Salesforce, or SAP

Location: Fully remote (UK-based)
Salary: £90,000 – £100,000 (open to discussion)
