MS Perview + XDR SME

Synapri are hiring a Microsoft Security SME to take ownership of a modern, enterprise-scale security environment. This role sits at the centre of security operations and data protection, giving you the opportunity to shape how Microsoft security technologies are implemented, optimised, and evolved. In this fantastic Security role, you will be focused across the full Microsoft Security stack including Defender XDR, Purview, and Entra ID, playing a key role in protecting critical systems, data, and identities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Defender XDR capabilities
• Design and manage DLP and Information Protection (Purview) policies
• Own threat detection, investigation, and incident response
• Build and enhance Conditional Access and identity security controls
• Implement PIM/PAM and least-privilege access models
• Support eDiscovery, audit, and compliance initiatives
• Identify vulnerabilities and improve overall security posture
• Collaborate with wider security and IT teams to drive best practice

Experience required:

• Strong experience across Microsoft security stack including Defender XDR, Purview (DLP, AIP, DSPM, and Entra ID (Identity & Access Management)
• Hands-on experience in threat detection and response
• Knowledge of Conditional Access, MFA, PIM/PAM
• Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
• Understanding of frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK
