SOC Leader / Senior Security SME

Synapri are working with a leading consultancy organisation supporting a well-recognised brand who are recruiting for an experienced SOC Leader / Senior Security SME.

Within this role you will lead a team of SOC Analysts, Security Operations and managing major security incidents to drive continuous improvements across a Microsoft security environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee SOC operations, work closely with customer stakeholders, and lead engineering initiatives across Microsoft Sentinel and the Microsoft Defender suite.

Salary: Up to £100,000 basic (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead onsite and offshore SOC teams.
• Manage major security incidents and drive incident response.
• Enhance SOC processes, detection capabilities, and service quality.
• Lead Microsoft Sentinel engineering and SIEM improvements.
• Deliver automation and AI-driven security initiatives.
• Produce service reports, dashboards, and incident documentation.
• Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

• 8+ years' experience in SOC or Security Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel
• Previous experience in leading teams managing rotas and shift patterns
• Expertise in SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and cloud security.
• Experience with PowerShell or Python is desirable.
• SC-200 and AZ-500 certifications preferred.
