Python Developer

Python Developers required to join an established software business who develop innovative products for financial services clients globally. Our client are looking for someone to work across both Market Risk and Quantitative Development teams on highly impactful solutions to meet customer requirements.

The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software applications using Python, leveraging data science libraries like NumPy and Pandas to handle and analyse data efficiently, building scalable applications with multiprocessing and API development capabilities, writing and optimising SQL queries for data management and analysis, and working within cloud environments, applying best practices to ensure performance.

Our client are looking for results-driven, collaborative and communicative Developers to foster a positive team environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is already technically proficient with the below required skills and also has a keen interest in learning new technologies and open to expanding their knowledge into areas including Quant and Risk Management.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python: Demonstrated experience in application development, beyond data analysis.
  • SQL competency: Comfortable designing and querying databases.
  • Cloud experience: Familiarity with any cloud platform (ideally Azure).

The following skills are not mandatory but would be advantageous:

  • Insight into Quantitative Finance, particularly Quantitative Risk Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control.
  • Familiarity with caching tools such as Redis and pub-sub systems like Kafka.
  • Exposure to CI/CD processes and automated pipelines.
  • Understanding of microservices and containerisation tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).

This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week in London and looking for someone to kick off in the New Year.
