Public Health Analyst / Evaluator

Location: Cardiff, Wales - Hybrid Working 

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research and/or evaluative methods, including data analysis, interpretation, and ability to concentrate and work for extended periods of time using VDU equipment.
  • Experienced in the use of a variety of analytical software packages e.g. (R, Python, SQL), and/or qualitative e.g. (NVivo).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and deal with conflict when required.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and conducting process, impact and outcome evaluations within a public health or related context, and ability to act independently.
  • Experience in project management including the coordination of multidisciplinary team meetings and managing complicated relationships.
  • Experience building effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and wider stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies governing research and evaluation in healthcare.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Awareness of the Welsh Language Act and the implications with data collection and analysis.

Education:

  • Educated to relevant PhD level or equivalent level of experience.
  • Additional training in research methodology or evaluation; or equivalent gained through experience
  • Knowledge of core public health competencies at master’s level or equivalent.
