Technical Specialist - Consumer Credit Act

Location: London – Hybrid working

Role Overview

Are you an expert in consumer credit with a deep understanding of the Consumer Credit Act, We are recruiting for a Technical Specialist - Consumer Credit Act role with a leading financial services trade body.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in the credit team and across various policy areas.
• Work closely with the personal finance team and provide leadership, consultancy, and secretariat support to the Credit PSB and working committees.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive network within the UK credit industry, including contacts with members, HMT, regulators, debt advisors, credit bureaus, and credit data companies.

Required Knowledge and Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of consumer credit, debt, credit data, and related operational processes.
• Understanding of the external challenges faced by members of the financial services industry.

Key Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience in managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong background in operational processes, compliance, policy work, and familiarity with CCA, credit risk, CONC, or credit data.
• Ability to lead as a subject matter expert and present effectively to high-level governance committees.
