In-house Senior Employment Counsel

  • £700 - £720 per day

My client is global consultancy, and they are searching for an In-house Senior Employment Council to work with, The Employment Law team in the UK Office of the General Counsel,

You will provide expert advice on all employment and people-related legal matters. We deliver high-quality, commercial, and responsive legal guidance across the firm, helping to manage risk and support key business decisions.

We are seeking a talented and experienced In-house Senior Employment Counsel to join our team on a 9-month contract. You will provide strategic and practical advice on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, supporting HR, Risk, and business leaders across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on employment and people matters, including:
    • Contractual agreements, TUPE transfers, restructures, and business shaping
    • Disputes, grievances, disciplinary matters, and ethical issues
    • Internal policies and procedures, compensation and benefits
    • Whistleblowing, equality and diversity initiatives, restrictive covenants, and terminations
    • Internal HR procedures and external claims (ACAS, Employment Tribunal)
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to provide seamless service to internal stakeholders
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the firm, including HR and the wider Risk community
  • Advise on the legal aspects of major people-related projects and initiatives
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate employment law risks

What We’re Looking For:

  • UK-qualified employment lawyer with significant in-house experience (ideally 8+ years PQE)
  • Proven experience advising on advisory, litigation, and business-shaping matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Discreet and mature, with proven ability to handle sensitive matters
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Flexible, with a willingness and ability to learn new areas quickly
