Senior IT Category Manager

A leading UK insurer is seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior IT Category Manager to lead and mature its technology procurement function. Based in London with hybrid working arrangements, this role offers the chance to significantly influence the company’s digital and operational future at a time of major transformation.

The postholder will shape and implement the strategic direction for all software licensing including for infrastructure, cloud services and information/ cyber security solutions. Acting as a key strategic adviser to senior executives including both the CIO and CFO, they will play a vital role in supporting the organisation’s ongoing shift to cloud-first operations. This includes ensuring that all technology partnerships align with financial and general data protection regulatory obligations, and that risk is effectively managed throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Central to the position will be the creation and management of large-scale commercial agreements, as well as leading complex, high-stakes negotiations with global technology providers. The Senior IT Category Manager will build strong, value-driven supplier relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, robust contractual performance, and long-term commercial advantage.
