Technical Delivery Lead requirement working with a world-leading life science research institute. Our client are looking to hire a Technical Delivery Lead to join their cutting edge tech Team. They are at the forefront of life science research; they are fully invested in improving human health and gaining an understanding of life on Earth, the data they are producing is vital to the way we live.
As their Technical Delivery Lead you will have line management responsibilities over Software Engineering and DevOps functions. This role is for someone with a Software Development/Systems Implementation background with experience in digital transformation.
There are a whole range of digital products and platforms that you will be overseeing. One of the big projects that you’ll be getting involved with from the get-go is the embedding of some of the fundamentals including good system and infrastructure monitoring and alerting with good response and resolve in place. You will be supported by the agile specialists to deliver software products using agile framework, focusing on the delivery value, minimising debt, and avoiding over-engineering where possible.
You will be working with other leaders within the company, shaping the digital product offerings that serve the organisation together. They are looking at working on strengthening the CI/CD processes, embedded software development best practices. Working with the management team to develop and deliver the digital product roadmap, blending off-the-shelf products with organisation specific software developments and integration points.
They are looking for someone with all round experience within the Software Engineering space, DevOps practices and Agile practices, if you have prior experience building these practices into teams before its worth mentioning.
They are using cloud technologies (Google, AWS and OpenStack), modern software development practices, Python, Java, CI/CD with infrastructure tech such as Linux, Jira and Gitlab alongside version control. They are also using Terraform and Kubernetes as their “infrastructure as a code”.
