Web developer

Web developer is required on a permanent basis for a world leading research institute based in Cambridge. They are looking for someone to join a growing platform team responsible for the delivery of new digital products.

 

You will design, develop, and project manage new web applications using an agile and waterfall methodologies. You will ensure Institute research data is made available using web technologies to the external scientific community and the public. You also will bring software/design knowledge and full stack development and Linux skills and be able to translate website designs into a responsive website that works with modern browsers and internet connected devices. Also, you will need to be able to communicate and collaborate across multi – disciplinary teams and working with people of all levels.

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Full-stack web development skills with knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu); Experience working with front-end frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Bootstrap; relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL); Pearl , PHP, Python, SASS.
  • Able to translate website designs into a responsive website that works with modern browsers and internet connected devices.
  • Software/design knowledge utilising development, staging, and live environments with understanding of Git version control, automated testing, correcting bugs, and Continuous Integration.
